I always had a Rock and Roll soul so in 2021 bought my first guitar and decided to take lessons around 2023. I can consider myself a decent rhythm guitarist with a focus on opposite genres, Punk and Country Rock, so I love to call myself Matt Blackthorn, an expression of both sides.
In 2027 I will build my own music studio at home, mostly as a way to make some order in the mess of gear I have collected over the years.
For recording and composing I am using a MacBook M3 Max alongside a Focusrite 2i2, and a Launchkey Mini MK3 (which will get an upgrade soon).

After experimenting with a Blackstar amp I settled with a BOSS Katana Gen 3 50W, just enough for making the walls shake and, why not, probably handle a small gig in the future.

My relationship with music, however, dates back from a long time ago, in 2002 when I began creating my songs on PC using software by eJay, some relics I got from a magazine and a cereal box.

In 2025 I started taking line dancing lessons and quickly fell in love with the energetic and rhythmic movements.
It's a fantastic way to express myself and stay active while enjoying great music.
I attend weekly classes at a local dance studio where I have learned various styles and routines. The community is welcoming and supportive, making each session enjoyable and motivating.
I also participate in social dance events, which have helped me improve my skills and meet other fellow dance enthusiasts.
When I have some time, I also love to play video games, both single and multi-player.
I usually play on an Xbox Series X and PC but when I have access to one I also game on PlayStation. I do not like mobile games at all.
I really like immersive games with deep storylines like The Witcher 3 or Cyberpunk 2077 but, since I do not have much time lately, I began to enjoy more immediate and short ones like fighting games; my favourite one is Mortal Kombat 11 and my favourite characters are the ninjas Scorpion and Kitana.
In the past I used to do 3D art using DAZ Studio and other 3D rendering techniques and programs.
Unfortunately I do not have time to pursue this anymore as my hobbies shifted towards music and keeping up with the advancements in the 3D world is quite challenging for me
